A mandala to honor my cornea donor.
In march 2017 I was diagnosed with Acanthamoeba Keratitis a parasite that eat my cornea. Via the water can get in your eyes if you use contact lenses. Within 4 weeks of the infection I was in danger of being blind or even worse losing my eye, so I had an emergency cornea transplant which was a life changing experience for me. I was pain free and my sight was restored. I felt so grateful for the gift from this person who was a male and wanted to thank his family and be able to do something for them, in order to honor him and remember him. Here in the Netherlands the donor’s name and the one who receives the donation are kept “secret” so I needed to go through the Dutch donor transplant organization to send my thank you note for the family, in it I offered to do a mandala with the name of the person. To make a long story short, I got the information and was able to create this beautiful mandala and via the organization was sent to them. Last but not least, I was blessed again as I got a thank you card from the family of the donor as they got the mandala.
